Zidane set to clarify his future tomorrow

MADRID, Apr 25 (Reuters) Real Madrid's France midfielder zinedine Zidane is expected to clarify his future in the game at a news conference called for tomorrow's in Madrid.

Press speculation suggests the three-times winner of the World Player of the Year award is going to call an end to his glittering career after the World Cup finals in Germany.

The 33-year-old, who led France to victory in the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000, has hinted at such a move in the past.

Zidane became the world's most expensive footballer when Real signed him from Juventus for 66 dollars million in 2001 and he scored a superb winner to earn Real their ninth European Cup in the 2002 final against Bayer Leverkusen.

But injuries and inconsistency have dogged him over the last two seasons, and although he still has another year left on his contract with Real, he may well have decided to call it a day.
