Youth hacks to death father, step-mom

Mysore, Apr 25 (UNI) In a fit of rage, a youth hacked to death his father and step-mother at Kushika village in Hassan district of Karnataka today.

Police said a verbal duel that broke out between Manjunath and his father Venkatagowda (45) over the latter selling some wooden logs from the house led to the brutal murder.

When Manjunath asked his father not to sell the logs, the latter attacked him with a stick. Enraged over his father's behaviour, he hacked him to death with a leathal weapon. He also murdered his step-mother, Susheelamma (40) and injured her son Suresh, when they intervened.

Suresh was admitted to a private hospital in Hassan.

Manjunath was absconding, police added.
