Katni (MP), Apr 25 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today accused the UPA Government of not being serious in tackling terrorism menace.

''This government repealed Prevent Of Terrorism Act (POTA) as soon as it came to power,'' Mr Advani told a public meeting here.

On his Bharat Suraksha Yatra's first day in Madhya Pradesh, Mr Advani said the Centre was responsible for the overall security of the nation.

Accusing the UPA Government of doing vote-bank politics, he said the government was not serious towards development and welfare of minorities.

He said the yatra received a tumultuous welcome even in Congress-ruled Andhra Pradesh.

Congress workers wore a black ribbon, took out a rally with black flags to protest Mr Advani's yatra and raised anti-BJP slogans.

Meanwhile, supporters of expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti had put up banners and posters in her support.
