Two Sena members from Vidarbha to quit in July: Rane
Pune, Apr 25 (UNI) Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane today said two more Shiv Sena MLAs from Vidarbha will quit the party in July, necessitating another by-election in October.
Talking to reporters after a review meeting of the revenue department in Pune Division, Mr Rane said that as the ''political temperatures are high'', it was not an appropriate time for the members (not naming anyone) to quit the party now. ''July would be a good time so that by-elections could be held in October''.
When asked about Pune, Mr Rane said that he would turn to the city last as Sena hardly had any presence in the city.
To a query on Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Mr Rane said that it would pose no problems as the cadres of the party were of a different kind and there were no leaders who have a mass base.
Besides, in the struggle between Shiv Sena and MNS, the Congress would gain, he claimed.
Asked if he still harboured ambitions of becoming the Chief Minister, Mr Rane replied,'' one need not talk about one's aims''.
