Two injured as train rams into truck in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Apr 25 (UNI) Two persons were seriously injured when 8029 Kurla Howrah express rammed into a dumper truck at an unmanned level-crossing near Mandar, about 20 Kms from here, tonight.

South East Central Railway (SECR) spokesman told UNI here that the accident took place at around 2115 hrs when Kurla-Howrah express rammed into the truck at the unmanned level crossing.

He said the train driver and truck driver had sustained serious injuries as they got trapped inside the mangled remains of truck and train engine, which were extensively damaged. The assistant driver of the train is yet to be traced.

Police and railway officials have already reached the spot the spokesman said, adding efforts were on to clear the traffic, which has been affected due to the accident.
