Sugar prices cheaper on increased stock supply
Navi Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) Sugar prices became cheaper on increase of stock supply, traders in the sugar market here said today.
The rates of small and medium grades of sugar fell by Rs five and Rs 11 per quintal, respectively, on sustained heavy selling pressure from producing centres.
The rates of ex-mill small grade remained steady on moderate demand, while medium grade came down by Rs 10 per quintal, on improved offers by stockists.
Following were the sugar spot rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,916/1,955, medium grade Rs 1,950/2,011.
Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,900/1,925 and medium grade Rs 1,930/1,950.
