Subex systems acquires UK based Azure solutions for USD 140 mn

Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) In a latest development marking the biggest overseas acquisition by any Indian software company, Subex Systems has acquired the UK-based Azure Solutions in a deal worth over USD 140 million to create Subex Azure Ltd.

The company currently enjoys the global leadership position for its Telecom Fraud Management System --Ranger, the company informed the BSE today.

''This deal will clearly propel Subex Azure to the position of market leader. As the largest overseas acquisition to-date, this is a transformational transaction for both Subex and the Indian software product industry. This deal highlights India's growing prowess in the global software products business and will focus the world's attention away from India's low cost advantage to her high quality resources capable of world-class innovation, company Chairman Subash Menon said.'' Now Subex Azure will also become the world's leading vendor of telecom revenue assurance systems. This deal is a big step in augmenting the company's strategic business focus of helping telcos establish the revenue operations center (ROC) through an integrated suite of solutions.

Subex Azure will count amongst its customers, 23 of the world's largest telcos and will have a customer base of over 150 customer installations in more than 60 countries. A highlight of the acquisition would be the British Telecom (BT) as a marquee Subex Azure customer.
