Russia for intensifying war against terror
Moscow, Apr 25 (UNI) Condemning the terrorist attacks on Egyptian resort of Dahab, Russia today called on international community to intensify cooperation in combating terrorism.
''We resolutely condemn these terrorist attacks in Egypt,'' the official spokesman for Russian Foreign Ministry Mikhail Kamynin said in a statement.
''We express our condolences to the leadership of Egypt, the Egyptian people and all the relatives of the victims,'' he added while referring to yesterday's three successive explosions in Dahab, killing at least 23 people and injuring many.
A Russian tourist was killed and a Russian woman was injured in the blasts, the Ministry said.
''Russian organisations in Egypt are doing everything possible to support their compatriots who were in the area of the terrorist attacks and ensure the return of the injured woman and the body of the tourist as soon as possible,'' he said.
Egypt is a popular destination for Russian holidaymakers.
Recently, Egyptian resorts on the Red Sea have been hit by terrorist attacks while about 60 people were killed in the terrorist-triggered blasts in Sharm el Sheikh in July 2005.
