Rahul emerges as doughty son of strong father

Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) Even as his father Pramod Mahajan lay in a precarious condition in Hindjua hospital here four days after he was greviously wounded by gun shots allegedly by his uncle, son Rahul seemed to be emerging as doughty son of a fighter father even in his trauma.

Having overcome the initial shock that was writ large on his face when accompanying BJP former president L K Adavni on Saturday, Rahul, during his first interface with media in the company of former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh on Sunday, emotionally said, ''Glint in papa's eyes and slight movement of fingers have kindled hopes in us.'' Yesterday, the third day, saw Rahul briefing BJP workers in the company of Mahajan's brother-in-law Gopinath Munde.

And today, while standing by Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, media saw a transformed Rahul who, unlike an emotional youngman of Sunday, replied to questions with a cool head. Asked to give assessment of his father's condition, Rahul quipped,'' I am not a qualified person to make an assessment... the question should be put to doctors.'' When asked if he visited Sidhivinayak (Lord Ganesh) temple, Rahul shot back,'' if your father was caught in this situation you, too, would have visited a temple.'' Rahul along with his sister visited the city's most venerated temple this afternoon. Yesterday, Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi had also led a prayer in the same shrine for the early recovery of Mahajan.
