Poll eve clash leaves two injured
Barrackpore, Apr 25 (UNI) Barely 48 hours before the third phase elections, two people were seriously injured in a political clash in North 24 Parganas district today.
Official sources said supporters of the CPI(M) and BJP clashed at Ukilpara in Jagaddal police station area.
BJP state secretary Rahul Sinha lodged a complaint with the local police station alleging that two of his party supporters were assaulted by CPI(M) workers.
He also lodged complaints with the Election Commission and the district magistrate.
Mr Sinha said the injured were admitted to the R G Kar Medical College and Hospital.
Elections will be held in North and South 24 Parganas and Kolkata on April 27 in the third phase of the assembly polls.
