MCX index closes 49.84 pts up at 2,319.37

Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded a turnover of Rs 3,832.03 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2,319.37 up by 49.84 points (2.15 per cent).

MCX has recorded a turnover of Rs 3,832.03 crore while the total trades registered were 55,048.

The MCX metal index was up by 90.33 points (3.49 per cent), while its agri index gained by 40.69 points (1.48 per cent). MCX energy Index was also up by 18.50 points (1.15 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 2,855.35 crore, including various MCX gold Rs 1,191.30 crore and MCX silver Rs 1,664.05 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 34,402. The open interest for gold was 10,462 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 3,50,560 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 277.64 crore with 6,611 trades, while in the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 81.12 crore with open interest of 4,94,800 BBL.

Turnover of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX were as follows - urad registered a turnover of Rs 29.57 crore with 565 trades, chana registered a turnover of Rs 34.05 crore with 952 trades, tur recorded a turnover of Rs 12.54 crore with 494 trades while masur registered a turnover of Rs 16.75 crore with 554 trades.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 33.17 crore with 1,222 trades while mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 66.15 crore with 3,302 trades.
