Left to review support to Congress after assembly polls: FB
Kochi, Apr 25 (UNI) The All India Forward Bloc(AIFB), a member of the Left Co-ordination Committee, today hinted at reviewing the Left support to the UPA Government at the Centre after the assembly polls in five states.
Talking to newspersons here Party General Secretary G Devarajan, said the gap between the Congress and Left was widening every day with the centre continuously dishonouring the Left views.
The stability of the UPA Government depends purely on its performance. Common Minimum Programme(CMP) was the one which was agreed upon by both the sides. It is not CMP,'' he said, accusing the Government of backtracking on it on many crucial issues in the recent past.
Mr Devarajan claimed that there was still the possibility of a non-BJP and non-Congress People's Front alternative as over 250 MPs in the Lok Sabha did not belong to either of the two parties.
Always there was the possibility and now scope has strengthened.
But the Front should not be clobbered after the elections, but be evolved with a clear agenda, ahead of the elections. Time is now ripe for the same and a strong leadership is needed,'' he said.
He said his party was extending support to the Left Democratic Front(LDF) in Kerala to take ahead on the Left unity at the national level further, to resist the invasion of colonial powers and to fulfill the aspirations of the people from the Left movement.
