Khurana to meet Bharti to mull future strategy

New Delhi, Apr 25: Former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana today said he was in touch with several leaders in the BJP and would meet firebrand leader Uma Bharti on Thursday to decide on his future political strategy.

''Uma is scheduled to arrive in Delhi on Thursday. I will meet her to decide on my future strategy,''Mr Khurana told reporters here.

Mr Khurana said he would consider all the pros and cons of joining hands with Ms Bharti.

At the same time, he said he was in touch with several BJP leaders as well as others like former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and former Prime Minister V P SIngh.

Continuing his attacks on those at helm in Delhi BJP, Mr Khurana said,''I have sent a message to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee this morning reiterating my reservations about working under those at the helm of affairs in the party. I have asked Atalji not to stop me from going my own way.'' Reacting to the claims by several party leaders that the BJP lost the last assembly elections in Delhi due to him, Mr Khurana said,''we would not have lost the assembly polls if the party had followed the plans earmarked by me to solve the problems of unauthorised constrcutions and commercial units. Also, many of the candidates I had suggested were not given ticketsd by the party.

consequently, the BJP got just 14 seats in the polls.'' Taking potshots at Delho Pradesh BJP president Harshvardhan, he said,''when I was the party pradesh president I had donated my house for the work of the party and here is a party chief who has spends lakhs of rupees for the renovation of his house, including installing the latest airconditioners in it.'' On this occasion, Mr Khurana also announced the various office bearers of his Delhi Bachao Morcha. While former minister in the Delhi Government Rajendra Gupta has been appointed chairman, former Delhi Industry minister Harsharan Singh Balli is the general secretary of the Morcha.
