Jamir condole's Yongkong's death

Kohima, Apr 25 (UNI) Goa Governor and former Nagaland Chief Minister S C Jamir and leader of the opposition in Nagaland assembly I Imkong have expressed shock over the death of veteran NNC leader Yongkong Ao at his London residence yesterday.

In his condolence message, Mr Jamir said that he knew Mr Yongkong personally since his youth as both of them taught at the Mokokchung National school.

Mr Yongkong was among the first few Naga graduates at that time, who later joined the Naga National Council (NNC).

''In his death, the Nagas have lost a sincere and dedicated gentleman,'' he added.

Mr Imkong, in his message, said Yongkong was a trusted leader.

In a seperate condolence message, the NNC said that late Yongkong fought for the cause of Naga freedom.
