Patna, Apr 25 (UNI) Senior IPS officer Amitabh Kumar Das, facing charges of sexually exploiting a girl by making false promise of marriage, today demanded a CBI probe into the allegations.

The IPS officers elder brother and a US=based doctor Harshbardhan Das told newspersons here that the girl, Shabnam Sinha, had failed to produce any 'clinching' evidence before the media or members of the public.

''She failed to show a single photo'', Dr Das said.

Shabnam Sinha, daughter of a former DIG rank IPS officer, had alleged that Mr Das had exploited her sexually for the last eight years.

Demanding more security cover to the IPS officer and his family members, Dr Das also read out a statement written by his father Gauri Shanker Das (a retired ADM rank officer). The father in his statement said several marriage proposals, including one of Shabnam Sinha, for his IPS son were received but all of them were rejected as Mr Amitabh Das had vowed not to marry.

Dr Das said only a CBI probe could expose the ''conspiracy'' hatched with the purpose of defaming the Das family.

When asked whether Ranvir Sena, the private army of landlords, was behind the conspiracy as claimed by the IPS officer, Dr Das said he was not aware of the fact and clarified he was representing the Das family and not his IPS brother.

''Why she maintained a mysterious silence for the last eight years'', Dr Das asked alleging that just photographs of the gift given to Shabnam could not substantiate her claim that those were presented by the IPS officers.

Brushing aside allegations that a dowry of Rs. one crore was demanded from the family of Shabnam Sinha and an attempt on her life could be made by the Das family, Dr Das said the family was also considering to file a defamation suit against Shabnam Sinha and legal opinion was also being taken in this regard.

Dr Das said, ''Shabnam was only trying to blackmail the Das family.'' Dr Das challenged Shabnam Sinha to give evidence which could prove his younger brother guilty.

He said a CD shown by her to 'prove' herself wife of his brother was also a 'fabricated' one.
