India condemns suicide bombing attack in Lanka
New Delhi, Apr 25 (UNI) India today strongly condemned the suicide bombing attack in Colombo which seriously injured the Sri Lankan Army Commander and killed five people.
Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, while speaking to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse on phone, conveyed India's shock over the incident, Ministry of External Affairs spokesman said.
Mr Mukherjee reiterated India's conviction that violence was not the answer to any problem and that political dialogue was the only way to resolve outstanding issues.
He expressed country's solidarity with the Government and people of Sri Lanka in this difficult hour, a gesture that was appreciated by Mr Rajapakse, who thanked India for its support and solidarity.
