IAF will induct AWACs, mid-air refuellers: Tyagi
New Delhi, Apr 25: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is on the threshold of inducting the AWACs (airborne warning and control systems), additional mid-air refuellers and the Hawk AJTs, Chief of Air Staff S P Tyagi has said.
''Integrating them in our present system with dexterity is the challenge ahead of us. More so, when we enhance the integration to include modern technological acquisitions like aerostat radars, UAVs, AWACs, data links, satellite links and a robust communication network which will help in reducing the sensor to shooter loop (time interval),'' Air chief marshal Tyagi said speaking at the IAF commanders' conference yesterday.
The conference will conclude on April 28.
