Hearing adjourns in Lalu's fodder scam case
Patna, Apr 25 (UNI) The special CBI judge of Patna Munnilal Paswan today adjourned the hearing on the discharge petition of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad in a case of multi-crore fodder scam in Bihar.
After hearing lawyers of both sides, the judge fixed May 3 as the next date for hearing in the case.
The CBI could not produce the documents which were the basis of the chargesheet in the case as earlier directed by the designated court. On the other hand, the senior counsel of Mr Prasad was also not present in the court today.
The case is related to fraudulent withdrawal of above Rs 46 lakh in animal husbandary department of Bihar from Banka and Bhagalpur treasuries. The case was registered in the year 1996.
Altogether 40 people are accused in the case including Mr Prasad, former Chief Minister Dr Jagannath Mishra and several former ministers and senior IAS officers of Bihar.
