Gunmen kill senior Baghdad judge

BAGHDAD, Apr 25 (Reuters) Gunmen killed a senior judge in Baghdad today, Interior Ministry sources said.

The sources said judge Ibrahim al-Hindawi was head of the main court responsible for the western Karkh sector of Baghdad.

He was gunned down in the insurgent stronghold of Amiriya in the capital.

There were no further details.

Sunni Arab insurgents are waging a violent campaign of suicide bombings, shootings and assassinations in a bid to topple Iraq's Shi'ite-led government and drive out US troops.
