Centre failed to contain terrorism, naxalism
Umaria (MP), Apr 25 (UNI) Expressing concern over increasing terrorism and Naxalite activities in the country, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today said the UPA Government had failed miserably to contain the menace.
On his Bharat Suraksha Yatra's first day in Madhya Pradesh, Mr Advani told a public meeting here that the Centre was trying to enter into talks with Naxals and terrorists thereby emboldening them.
Alleging that the Centre was not taking concrete steps to curb infiltration from Bangladesh in view of votebank politics, he asserted that the BJP would never compromise on terrorism, Naxalism and Bangladeshi infiltration.
Attacking the Centre's foreign policy, Mr Advani said the NDA had not extended a hand of friendship to Pakistan on the US' advice.
Earlier, more than 300 Congress workers were arrested for taking out a rally to protest to Mr Advani's yatra. They were released later.
