CBI raids premises of excise assistant commissioner

Ludhiana, Apr 25 (UNI) The CBI today conducted raids at several places in the city, which included the official and residential premises of Central Excise Assistant Commissioner B M Verma and two factories.

The senior excise official and a chatered accountant were also interrogated by the CBI team which raided several places including a textile mill and a hosiery mill here throughout the day.

The raids continued till the late evening hours at the two offices of the central excise in presence of Mr Verma who was reportedly rounded up as a part of the entire probe.

The CBI officials refused to give further details.
