Canvassing restricted in sensitive areas

Pondicherry, Apr 25 (UNI) The election department has imposed a restriction in canvassing in the sensitive Cassicade constituency here.

District Election Officer Theva Neethi Das today held a meeting with both the Congress and PMC candidates in the constituency following clash between the two parties, in which it was agreed to have canvassing in the constituency up to 1700 hrs only every day in a bid to maintain law and order.

Mr Das later told newspersons that such restrictions are proposed to be introduced in other sensitive constituencies with the consent of the political parties.
