BSF to keep vigil on Indo-Bangla infiltration
Aizawl, Apr 25 (UNI) The Border Security Force (BSF) will deploy two more battlions to check infiltration along the Indo-Bangla border.
The decision was taken after the intelligence report said that there would be terrorist infiltration along these areas, especially in the Mizoram region.
Under the two new battalions, more than 2000 BSF jawans would be deployed for round-the-clock vigil.
'We have already deployed three battalions in the region,'' BSF Deputy Commandant Sheik Altaff Hussain told UNI today.
These BSF jawans would also provide security to organisations like National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) and Border Road Organisation (BRO), which constructed Indo-Bangla border fencing work, he added.
At present, the BSF has 22 Border Out Posts (BOPS) along 400 kms of the Indo-Bangla border, which would be increased to 70, he said adding there was one BOP in every 3.5 km.
