BILT Corporate Leadership to change on July 1, 2006

New Delhi, Apr 25 (UNI) Mr L M Thapar, Chairman of Ballarpur Industries Ltd. (BILT) will step down as chairman of the company on July 1, 2006 after serving the organisation for more than four decades.

Mr L M Thapar will take on the role of Chairman Emeritus of the company from that date.

Mr Gautam Thapar has already been appointed as Chairman by the Board.

''I am proud that BILT has attained its leadership position in my lifetime. I am sure that Gautam will continue to lead it to becoming a powerhouse in the Asian region very soon,'' Mr L M Thapar said in a statement here.

Both the changes will be effective from July 1, 2006.
