Banks should take advantage of modern technology: Oscar

Nitte, Karnataka, Apr 25 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation Oscar Fernandes today called upon banks to take full advantage of modern technology like e-Banking and e-Business, like foreign banks.

Speaking after inauguration of the four-day Founder's Day celebrations of an Education Trust here, he said Indian banks need to come together and have inter connectivity network system to compete with foreign banks.

He said institutions should take technology, medicare and education to the doorsteps of the people.

Appreciating the efforts made by the Trust, founded in memory of late former Supreme Court Justice K S Hegde, he said such trusts should take the lead in bringing together knowledge in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district, which had remained in the forefront in the field of education and banking.
