AIMECA hurls corruption charges on DOTE
Chennai, Apr 25 (UNI) All India Medical and Engineering Colleges Association (AIMECA) has levelled corruption charges against the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE) and requested Governor S S Barnala to take necessary action.
In a statement here, Association President T D Naidu alleged that the DOTE has committed various ''commissions and ommissions'', while resolving the problems faced by the students and engineering colleges in the state.
Claiming that the association had all evidences to prove the corruption charge, Mr Naidu requested the Governor and the State Government to appoint an enquiry committee and initiate necessary action.
He said the DOTE has also failed to inform the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), University Grants Commission (UGC) and the State Education department, the action taken by it.
Anna University was also silent on certain matters, he said adding the Governor, should take necessary action against the erring officials of the DOTE after an enquiry.
