Advani's yatra receives tumultous welcome
Shahdol (MP), Apr 25 (UNI) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani today entered Madhya Pradesh from Chhattisgarh in this district to a tumultuous welcome as a part of his 'Bharat Suraksha Yatra'.
BJP General Secretary Kaptan Singh Solanki, Madhya Pradesh BJP incharge for yatra Vikram Verma and state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's representative Forest Minister Himmat Singh Kothari welcomed Mr Advani on his arrival at the local Lalpur airport at 1215 hrs.
Several ministers, MPs, MLAs and party workers were present.
Mr Advani's entourage included his wife Ms Kamla Advani, daughter Pratibha Advani, former Union Minister Anant Kumar and state BJP President Satyanarain Jatia.
Mr Advani addressed a public meeting as a part of the yatra.
He will traverse 1,050 km in Madhya Pradesh before entering Rajasthan from Neemuch district. He has travelled 2,795 km so far.
The BJP leader had left for campaigning in West Bengal from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh on April 23. Later, he returned to Raipur from where arrived here.
The route of Bharat Suraksha Yatra in Madhya Pradesh has been changed and four public meetings cancelled in view of the model code of conduct being in force in Sehore and Hoshangabad districts due to Budhni assembly bypoll.
