A KLNLF militant lynched

Diphu, Apr 25 (UNI) A KLNLF cadre was lynched and another injured in Rongphong village in Borlanfa locality, 25 km from Diphu police station, late last night.

One AK 47 rifle and 25 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the militants, police said.

Police said here today that three KLNLF cadres had come to extort money from a Hindi speaking family at about 2215 hours.

One of the ultras succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital after being beaten up by the villagers while his associate was injured. The third militant managed to escape under the cover of darkness, police said.

A suspected cadre of the outfit had also been picked up for interrogation, police added.

The injured ultra had to be rushed to the Diphu civil hospital in the absence of medical staff in the Borlanfa primary health centre.
