Woman self-immolates with 2 minor daughters

Maharajganj, Apr 24 (UNI) A woman and her two minor daughters -- who had sustained grievous burns when the mother self immolated here last night - today died at the Gorakhpur Medical College.

Police said Rita (45), a resident of Ghugli area of Maharajganj district, had doused herself and daughters -- Puja (10) and Karishma (6) -- with kerosene before setting afire.

They were taken to hospital in serious condition and later referred to Gorakhpur, where they died.

Rita's husband Awdhesh works in Mumbai, police added.

A case has been registered.
