Shankarcharya case: SC Judge wants to withdraw
New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Mr Justice B.N. Srikrishna, presiding judge of the bench of the Supreme Court today told the petitioner Pontiff Kanchi Jayanendra Saraswati that he wanted to withdraw from the case due to personal reasons.
The hearing of Kanchi Shankarcharya's petition seeking change of the public prosecutor in the trial of Shanakraman murder case in which Shankarcharya is the main accused was adjourned till May 1 with directions to place the matter before the Chief justice of India for appropriate directions.
The petitioner is seeking change of government counsel on the ground that counsel's conduct was not fair and it was prejudicial towards the accused.
