Prayers in MP for Mahajan's well-being
Bhopal, Apr 24: Prayers for BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan -- who is battling for life at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital after an assassination attempt by his younger brother -- are being offered at Madhya Pradesh's ancient temple town Ujjain, where the Mahakaleshwar 'jyotirlinga' is located.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan has initiated a 'Dhai lakh Maha Mrityunjaya Jap' at the Mahakaleshwar temple. The ritual, by 11 priests seated before the sanctum sanctorum, was supervised yesterday by state Public Works Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Ujjain Development Authority Chairman Mohan Yadav.
A 'Rudrabhishek' and fire ritual were organised by the party workers at the historic Dhareshwar shrine in Dhar district.
In the state capital, an 'Akhand Ramayan path' is in progress at Mr Vijayvargiya's official residence.
''We are confident that Mr Mahajan will emerge victorious in his battle against death,'' said the Minister.
