Kathmandu, Apr 24 (UNI) Nepal King Gyanendra is expected to make an important announcement, possibly about the revival of parliament, tonight.

Highly placed sources told UNI that the palace staff have been asked to stay back tonight as an important announcement was expected from the Narayanhity Palace.

Though the Indian ambassador Shiv Shanker Mukherjee would not reveal what transpired at his meeting with the King yesterday, he said he felt proud and humbled to see the Nepalis struggle for full democracy.

There have been reports that curfew has been imposed from 2300 hrs today to 2000 hrs tomorrow. However, official confirmation was awaited.

The Indian Ambassador, US envoy James F Moriarty and ambassador from the E U countries, are playing the role of facilitators in the political imbroglio in the Himalayan kingdom, meeting both sides regularly.

It is learnt that the king has been seeking legal opinion-on the revival of parliament.

Sources said that though its term has elapsed, the king can take recourse to Article 127 of the constitution which empowers him to take any measure to resolve a constitutional issue.
