NDFB calls Asom bandh tomorrow

Kokrajhar, Apr 24 :The National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), has called for a 24-hour Asom bandh tomorrow in protest against the arrest of eight of their cadres at Guwahati.

The police arrested the cadres on charges of extortion while the NDFB maintained that it was a clear case of violation of ceasefire ground rules.

The NDFB claimed that the cadres had gone to collect funds offered by the well-wishers.

The Home department today asked the police to go slow on the case but the NDFB was perturbed over the development since their ceasefire is expiring on May 31 and there was no sign of any peace talks in the next few weeks.
