MP Govt bans poultry products from Maharashtra, Gujarat
Bhopal, Apr 24 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government has imposed a ban on the entry of poultry products from Maharashtra and Gujarat as a precautionary measure in view of bird flu.
The import is carried out through 26 routes of Maharashtra and 9 routes of Gujarat. However, there is no bar on export of poultry products from Madhya Pradesh to these states, an official release said here today.
Animal Husbandry Commissioner Rajesh Rajora said directives had already been issued to the District Magistrates of seven districts -- Jhabua, Burhanpur, Balaghat, Betul, Seoni, Barwani and Chhindwara -- adjoining Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Dr Rajora added that out of 3,700 samples only one sample had tested positive in Madhya Pradesh. The positive sample was detected in village Ichchhapur of Burhanpur district, the release added.
