MCX Index closed at 2335.34 down by 37.11 points

Mumbai, Apr 24 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded a turnover of Rs 5,005.09 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2335.34 down by 37.11 points (-1.59 per cent). MCX has recorded a turnover of Rs 5,005.09 crore. The total trades registered were 64,316. The MCX Metal Index was down by 95.35 points (-3.61 per cent), and MCX Agri Index was the sole gainer and was up by 10.66 points (0.67 per cent). MCX Energy Index was down by 95.35 points (-3.61 per cent).

The combined MCX Bullion registered a turnover of Rs 4,145.60 crore, including various MCX Gold Rs 2,154.44 crore and MCX Silver Rs 1,991.16 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX Bullion were 46,437. The open interest for Gold was 10,205 kgs., while the outstanding position for Silver was 3,51,580 kgs.

In the Metals segment MCX Copper registered a turnover of Rs 189.51 crore with 4,806 trades, while in the energy segment, Crude Oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 79.41 crore with open interest of 5,11,900 BBL.

Turnover of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX were as follows - Urad registered a turnover of Rs 90.77 crore, with 1,922 trades. Channa registered a turnover of Rs 38.81 crore, with 1,063 trades. Tur recorded a turnover of Rs 11.93 crore, with 509 trades.

Masur registered a turnover of Rs 18.11 crore, with 663 trades.

Some of the other major commodities traded on MCX registered the following turnover. potato recorded a turnover of Rs 25.66 crore, with 885 trades. Mentha Oil registered a turnover of Rs 33.43 crore, with 1,788 trades.
