LDF inconsistent on real issues: Sonia
Palakkad, Apr 24 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi today alleged that the Left Democratic Front was inconsistent in its stand on real issues confronting the state, saying one thing when in power and blindly opposed it when out of power.
Addressing an election rally on the second leg of her election campaign at Victoria College grounds here, she said the Congress-led United Democratic Front's victory was needed to sustain the momentum of growth in Kerala. 'A UDF victory would take the state towards development.' she said.
Outlining the development work taken up by the UDF government, Ms Sonia Gandhi said the government had succeeded in creating more job opportunities, setting up a platform for higher education and brought in vast changes in health care and social justice.
She said the UDF government during its five year rule had brought in many projects like 'Akshaya', a computer education programme, and 'Kudumbasree', a self-help project for women.
Ms Sonia Gandhi added that the UPA government headed by Dr Manmohan Singh had given special care for the uplift of agriculture and traditional industries in the state.
