Goodyear moves up 8 places on 'Fortune 500' listing

New Delhi, Apr 24: Goodyear, world's largest tyre company, has climbed up eight places and stood at 112th position, on Fortune magazine's annual ranking of the largest companies in the United States, up from 120th position last year.

The Goodyear Asia Pacific region recorded a revenue of 1.423 billion dollars in 2005-06, an 8.5 per cent increase over the previous year, contributing to the overall increase in Goodyear's annual performance.

The list is compiled by the magazine on companies' annual revenues. Goodyear's record 2005 sales contributed to the jump.

We are continuing to introduce innovative products that build on our fundamental values of performance and safety and strengthen our brand, Goodyear Asia Pacific region President Pierre E Cohade said.

Goodyear manufactures tyres, engineered rubber products and chemicals in 100 facilities in 29 countries around the world.
