New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Low cost carrier GoAir has selected CFM56-5B engines to power its new fleet of 10 firm and 10 option Airbus A320 family aircraft.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in mid-207 and the firm engine order is valued at 120 million dollars at list prices.
CFM56-5B engines are produced by CFM International, a 50:50 joint venture between Snecma and General Electric Company, and is the world's leading jet engine supplier. There are more than 15,500 CFM56 engines powering aircraft worldwide.
GoAir began operations late last year with two leased A320s and now has four planes in operation on 28 flights covering 14 cities.
The new A320 order is a part of its planned expansion plan.
The airline is hoping to operate a fleet of 33 aircraft in the next three years.
