GGP demands postponing Budhni bypoll
Bhopal, Apr 24 (UNI) The Gondwana Ganatantra Party (GGP) today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) demanding postponing of Budhni assembly bypoll until factual evaluation of the amount spent in campaigning by the BJP and the Congress.
In the five-point memorandum, former Union Minister Prahlad Patel and GGP's Khushal Singh Markam alleged that the Congress and the BJP had spent more amount than the prescribed limit.
The memorandum said holding election before assessment of expenditure incurred by the parties before April 21 would not be appropriate.
The GGP demanded that in view of keeping Budhni free from power cuts, the electricity bill be added to the BJP candidate's expenditure besides action being taken against the MP State Electricity Regulatory Commission and its Managing Director.
The memorandum also pointed out that the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had not disclosed in the affidavit about a pending case against him. The bypoll must be postponed until a decision on the High Court's notice takes place.
