Four chicken guinea cases reported in Dharwad

Dharwad, Apr 24 (UNI) With four more cases of chicken guinea being reported from Kalghatagi town of Dharwad district this morning the total number of cases in the district rose to 31.

Official sources said except for the four fresh cases reported today, others who were undergoing treatment at the District Hospital were recovering.

District Health Officer M R Gotyal told UNI that steps to contain the disease have already been taken. Almost all cases that were reported from Kalghatagi town belonged to one particular lane which has been totally fogged to do away with mosquitoes.

Last week seven people were affected by the disease spread by mosquitoes from Garag village of the district and were treated at district hospital.
