Congress leader demands action against BJP MLC

Patna, Apr 24 (UNI) Bihar Congress chief spokesperson Prem Chandra Mishra today urged the state chief election officer to initiate action against BJP MLC Kiran Ghai, for allegedly intimidating voters and trying to rig polls at a particular booth under Patna (West) assembly constituency, which went to polls today.

Mr Mishra alleged that Ms Ghai alongwith her official bodyguards and supporters were trying to use unfair means at booth number 279 (A) in the constituency.

He alleged that state ministers and NDA MLAs indulged in casting bogus votes with the help of their supporters and henchmen.

The low turnout of voters reflected growing disenchantment of the common people with the Nitish Kumar government, he added.

The Congress leader claimed that the secular votes were cast in favour of his party candidate and exuded confidence that the candidate would romp home to victory in the hustings.
