Canara FY-06 net up 21per cent

Mumbai, Apr 24: Canara Bank has reported a 21 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 1,343.22 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 when compared with Rs 1,109.51 crore in the previous fiscal.

Its total income increased to Rs 10,089.03 crore in FY-06 from Rs 9,115.80 crore in the previous financial year, according to a bank release issued to the BSE today,.

The board has cleared a dividend of 66 per cent, Rs 6.60 per share, for FY-06, the release added.
