Hi tech Rahul prepares ground for Sonia's win
Amethi, Apr 23: Lok Sabha MP from Amethi Rahul Gandhi has begun the spadework for ensuring his mother and Congress President Sonia Gandhi's emphatic victory during the May Eight parliamentary bypoll in the neighbouring constituency of Rae Bareli.
Congress sources in Sultanpur district housing the Amethi seat said that twenty hi-tech vans equipped with video publicity material have been prepared for proactive campaigning for Ms Gandhi in Rae Bareli.
The same vans were pressed into election campaigning for both mother and son in Rae Bareli and Amethi during 2004 general elections.
The supporters of the young Congress MP are racing against time to help their colleagues in Rae Bareli for paving the road of electoral success for Ms Gandhi.
Right from teams of ten Congress workers culled from every development block to women working round the clock to carve out flags, badges and other election campaign material, people of Amethi, like their star MP appear duty bound to ensure Sonia Gandhi's re-election to Lok Sabha.
The tech-sarvy MP of Amethi has also ensured optimum use of computer technology for making the poll campaign successful. The computers are being fed with boothwise details of Rae Bareli and strategies made for maximum Congress votes in all the booths, party sources added.
Ms Gandhi who was elected to Lok Sabha for the first time from Amethi in 1999, had shifted to Rae Bareli in 2004. Her son Rahul's maiden Lok Sabha election victory then came from the same Amethi constituency, represented in the past by father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.
