Arjun asks MP Cong to submit Sardar Sarovar report
Ujjain, MP, Apr 23 (UNI) Union Human Resource Development Minister and senior Congress leader Arjun Singh today summoned Madhya Pradesh Congress President Subhash Yadav here and the leader duo discussed Sardar Sarovar dam oustees' resettlement before deciding to constitute a committee that would submit its report within three days.
Last night, Mr Singh reached here from Indore for a three-day trip. The meeting took place at Mauni Baba's ashram.
''Large-scale bungling took place in rehabilitation. The judiciary and Centre were misinformed,'' Mr Yadav told mediapersons.
Addressing Congress workers during a programme at Indore yesterday, the minister obliquely extended support to Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar and said the workers should also raise voices in the oustees' favour.
''The state government's resettlement statistics are unrealisitic,'' he alleged.
