UP hikes pension for handicapped

Siddharthnagar, Apr 21 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government has hiked the annual pension for handicapped by Rs 800.

State Minister for Handicapped Welfare Shyam Narayan Tiwari told newspersons here today that an estimated 10 lakh handicapped would benefit by the hike from Rs 1000 to Rs 1,800.

Mr Tiwari further said that a statewide survey will also be conducted to trace out those who have not been covered by the pension scheme as yet.
