Principal, 7 others arrested for irregularities
Jaunpur, Apr 21 (UNI) Eight persons, including a municipal inter college principal, were today arrested for alleged irregularities in the evaluation of Uttar Pradesh Board examination answersheets.
Police said the accused, including principal Jainath Yadav, were arrested in a raid conducted by the district inspector of schools (DIOS).
Yadav had allegedly reported on April 19 that all the answer sheets had been evaluated.
However, during the raid it was found that around 10,000 sheets were being evaluated by the principal and his aides.
The answersheets were also confiscated by the raid team comprising DIOS Rajesh Kumar Arya, SDM Devendra Pandey and cops.
A case was later registered against them.
