Panighata tea garden reopens
Siliguri, Apr 21 (UNI) After fifteen days of suspension of work, the Panighata Tea Estate near here reopened today following a successful tri-partite meeting, tea sources said.
About 2050 workers, who were rendered jobless after closure of the garden, reported to the duty.
Yesterday a tri-partite meeting called by the Darjeeling district labour cell mediated with the management and labour unions for reopening of the garden in the Terai region.
The garden managment on April six deserted the estate after putting a notice of suspension of work.
