MPP infighting continues in Manipur

Imphal, Apr 21 (UNI) Internal bickerings within the Manipur People's Party(MPP) continues with two factions claiming to be the real MPP.

Large numbers of security personnel have been posted at the office of the MPP to avert any crisis.

Mr O Joy and Mr O Borajao, who was elected in the presidential election in December last, have been leading the two groups.

The MPP, Langthabal unit, today submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Okram Ibobi urging him to take action against the police personnel involved in the alleged custodial torture of the three sons of Mr O Joy.

The three sons of Mr O Joy who were involved in the factional fight in the MPP office were apprehended and allegedly beaten up by the Imphal city police personnel.

Mr O Joy said he has also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister urging him to take action against the policemen who beat up his sons.

Meanwhile, another group of the MPP said O joy treated the party as his fiefdom and should stop interfering in the internal matters of the party.
