Fire at Haffkine Laboratory

Mumbai, Apr 21 (UNI) A fire broke out at the State-owned Haffkine laboratory at Parel in South Central Mumbai this morning.

Fire department sources said the fire broke out at around 0900 hrs on the first floor of ICMR-ultravirus department in polio building of the pharmaceutical laboratory.

Though some of the equipment were damaged in the mishap, no casualty has been reported, they said.

The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained.

Four fire engines and two water tankers were rushed to extinguish the fire, sources added.
