Advani does not rule out mid-term poll
Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, Apr 21 (UNI) Senior BJP leader L K Advani today said he did not rule out a possibility of mid-term poll in the country.
''I am not expecting a mid-term poll but I am not ruling it out either,'' he said while addressing a public meeting here during his 'Bharat Suraksha Yatra' which entered Chhattisgarh this evening.
Mr Advani said the present UPA Government at the Centre was facing pressure from various quarters including its allies which may develop into the possibility of a mid-term poll.
He said this was for the first time in the country's history that the Prime Minister was not holding the ''steering wheel'' of the government.
''The steering wheel is in the hands of Congress President Sonia Gandhi,'' he said.
Mr Advani said the Prime Minister has got a foot on the accelerator, while the Left parties, which supported the government, were applying brakes on all national and international matters.
